About Sierra HomesWho would ever think the establishment of the Hill Country's premier green home building company all started with a pesky water leak? In the 1990s, David Fransik found himself trying to locate the source of a water leak while performing warranty work on a high end custom home. He wondered how much time and money could be saved by engineering homes that simply prevented the cause of common problems instead.
Humble beginnings? Maybe so. But this fundamental desire to build high-performance, hassle-free homes helped the Fransiks escape the big city and use their unique approach to help Hill Country customers pursue their dreams. "I have always been a building science guy," said David. "I set out to do this because I want to build our customers a better home. Green is what our customers want it to be. My experience and training allow me to meet each customer's specific needs while delivering superior efficiency, long term durability and personalized style."
The creation of Sierra Homes also gave Teresa Fransik, who owned a successful veterinary practice and training kennel for 15 years, the opportunity to change gears and focus her strong organizational and research skills on the couple's new venture. While David oversees construction, Teresa focuses on customer care. "Our greatest strength is that we listen to our customers and maintain a constant dialog with them throughout the entire project. We take the time to discern both what they want from their home and the lifestyle they want to live," she said. "I love when we pick up on that little something that a homeowner says and make it a reality." It only takes a few minutes with the Fransiks to tell that they are passionate about what they do and about the beautiful part of Texas that serves as the scenic backdrop for their homes. But this all pales in comparison to the passion they have for seeing customer's delight in the marriage of science and lifelong dreams reflected in every facet of their new home.
